Yapper #01 – Events Coordinator

Who Is This Role Best For

For my girlies, who love a phone call, events coordinator is an often entry level role, masquerading behind director level responsibilities. Being good at a full time event coordinator role is a lot like surviving post-college in Manhattan, if you can make it there you could make it anywhere.

Why This Role Is Important

You are the beginning and ending of every event for an org, or if you work at an event planning firm, for many orgs.

It is a rolodex role, where having your phone and email contacts organized, will keep you above your peers.

When something goes wrong all eyes are on you, but when an event goes well, you will be asked when is the next party!

How Active Is The Market for This Role

On LinkedIn in the US, there are 742 active postings for Event Coordinator, before variations, Hybrid 81, Fully Remote 110.

Any role will have you onsite for the events you planned, and it’s generally not considered a 9-5, but if you’re looking for roles with some to a lot of travel, and meeting new people in addition to the team you’re supporting these can be fun roles.
